Tansy
Tansy, Latin: Tanacetum vulgare L., is a plant commonly found in our national meadows, clearings and roadsides. It belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is recognized by its conspicuous yellow flowers consisting of flattened baskets. Its healing properties have been appreciated for years – the plant is used in natural medicine, e.g. to treat digestive and rheumatic diseases. However, it should be emphasized that due to the high content of poisonous thujone in this plant, it must be handled with extreme care and the reaction of the body must be closely monitored.
